I Caught a Fable by Ken Bewick A sense of my innocence comes back to life Days became restless and ghostly at night Could you believe all the tales that I tried I caught a fable. Some in the springtime, they straighten up tall. It's hard to believe when your own leaves have fall'n It's hard to define when this season began I caught a fable Standing in the garden at the opening I caught the chords and I started to sing I caught a fable The sunlight is shifting, shines gold thru your dress The sand hits the ocean as it always has I found an old chord asleep on the tide I caught a fable. I take it so strongly, I take it so tough, It's hard to remember when you're not feeling much It's hard to define when the season began I caught a fable.

Summertime At Our House By Ken Bewick Dad's mowing the lawn, and mom's making our lunch. My sister is playing her violin, It's summertime at our house, and nobody knows what the future holds I'm watching the bees by the roses, feeling romantic and full of myself Oh the sunlight drenches these days And I've got so many things that I want to say It's summertime at our house, I think I'm in love with the girl next door, And dad seems to be in a good mood today, It's summertime, and I'm seventeen, the future is endless and open, Sitting in afternoon sun on my bed, thinking how love is so beautifully sad, Oh the sunlight drenches these days, And I've got so many things I want to say It's summertime at our house, I'm listening to records in my room. They all say I spend too much time in here, It's summertime, and I'm still in my youth, life is confusing and wonderful, Watching the bees by the roses. Feeling romantic and full of myself, Oh the sunlight drenches these days, And I've got so many things that I want to say.

Desert Song 04:24
Desert Song by Ken Bewick Terry got his pistol out and he rode off in the heat " I aint comin' back here no more till they drag me by my feet" Same old story same old way, he's got an axe to grind He's got a chip on his shoulder bigger than the western summertime He walked out in the desert took his rest by a tree said "I aint talked to no one in so long that I've forgotten how to speak Dust in my mouth, my eyes are dry, and my skin all turning pink, I aint talked to no one in so long that I've forgotten how to speak" Terry rode to Mexico and shot his way down the street They put him in jail but he got saved by a senorita sweet They hid amongst the cactus flowers on a hill old desert hill A desperado can get caught, but he can never get killed He walked out in the desert took his rest by a tree said "I aint talked to no one in so long that I've forgotten how to speak Dust in my mouth, my eyes are dry, and my skin all turning pink, I aint talked to no one in so long that I've forgotten how to speak" She took him to a place she knew of, they walked ten miles or so But the place was dry as a buzzard's eye and filled with brittle bones "Senorita, senorita, why'd ya lay me low? Got no water to get us back, and we got nowhere to go" He walked out in the desert took his rest by a tree said "I aint talked to no one in so long that I've forgotten how to speak Dust in my mouth, my eyes are dry, and my skin all turning pink, I aint talked to no one in so long that I've forgotten how to speak"

Mending 04:05
Mending by Ken Bewick Walking streets in foreign towns I always wonder what is there I will get the chance to know and you, my love, are light and air Sunny day or cloudy sky could not change the way you move Open heart and open mind are all it takes to hear the news Life without wonder and life without song It's a heavy price to pay for the pages it was written on la la la la, my baby loves me now la la la la, and she is gone again I live in a window where sunlight's bending I would hate to have you go, now that I'm mending Well itt's hard to know what's in your heart when you would think I'd put you down It's hard to know when new love starts, and where the last love ran aground Sunny day or cloudy sky do not matter much to me You my love the million miles, you my love the autumn leaves Short days of winter and short days of sun Nights like there's no time and you and I aren't anyone la la la la, my baby loves me now la la la la, and she is gone again I live in a window where sunlight's bending I would hate to have you go, now that I'm mending Sets of tracks across the sand through the forests following You and I go hand in hand, through the silence caroling Sunny day or cloudy sky would not bother me at all Sunlight is the words we sing, grey clouds hold the tears that fall Love without jealousy when shadows grow long The last notes of daylight will echo till the morning comes la la la la, my baby loves me now la la la la, and she is gone again I live in a window where sunlight's bending I would hate to have you go, now that I'm mending

Lois On The Rocks by Ken Bewick Lois on the rocks, down around the fishing docks She thought that she was smart sneakin' 'round the ultramart But now she's tied and bound and there's monsters all around But she won't tell a lie to get herself untied And she wonders why it hurts And why he took the money from her purse Picked up by this guy Last thing she dreamed she thought she'd died Lois in a chair, some old bad guy put her there She never says a word She sits there like a frozen bird Forever tied or boud, about to burst into sound But she won't speak aloud Afraid to leak the story out And she wonders 'What the heck?!" as the water's rising up her neck Rescued by this guy Last thing she dreamed she thought she'd died In the museum's maze, or waiting in the Space Arcade The temperature could rise, the sleeping giant might revive And she ducks into the hall while he makes an outbound call But she won't speak aloud In case she'd let the story out And she wonders what's up next... She's got a ransome that they'll collect Rescued by this guy Last thing she dreamed she thought she'd fly.

A Stone Should Live Alone By Josh LaBelle She loved George like she loved the moon They stayed together lovin' night and noon She spends her time all alone in her house Thinkin' about George and all the days without.. A stone shouldl live alone, live alone, live alone A stone should live alone, live alone, live alone A stone should live alone, live alone, live alone I'm not a stone, but I live alone When Ruthie met George she said to him Life's too short to let our love go dim Take Ruthie's hand and promise me the world And always remember these few simple words: A stone shouldl live alone, live alone, live alone A stone should live alone, live alone, live alone A stone should live alone, live alone, live alone I'm not a stone, but I live alone Blind in the desert, cactus and sand Always together, livin' hand in hand Ruthie and George, my family Well I thought of them, and of you and me! A stone shouldl live alone, live alone, live alone A stone should live alone, live alone, live alone A stone should live alone, live alone, live alone I'm not a stone, but I live alone

Poet Is Priest by Michael Enos I know a poet who had the name of Priest He lived just two doors down, but his name was on the lease I would see him down when the tide was low Pickin' up shells with a coconut soul Letters came from the government spy Tryin' to get Priest to cut out his right eye Priest said no when I gave him the mail He said, "I'd rather go down like Jonah in the whale," (First wait for distortion to be noticeable And when it's noticeable you can turn the boat around) ....poet is priest.. Rattle my fences and shake up my bones I told Priest he shouldn't go at it alone Oil is better than a welfare fix, I've got sugar for the government stiff Yeah, I've got some sugar for the government's tea 'Cause me and Priest, we talkin' ABC We got somethin' out of San De Lis It's a talkin' blues called 'Poet Is Priest' (First wait for distortion to be noticeable And when it's noticeable you can turn the boat around)

Where I'm At 04:45
Where I'm At by Josh LaBelle Sweltering City the car horns playin' No idea where I'm at.. But high above the wind I'm chasin' a glimpse, Yeah, I'm chasin' a glimpse No idea where I'm at, and it feels so good Got no idea where I'm at, and it feels so good And it feels so good, So good, so good The mountains full of trees whisper in the wind Of all guilty people City to city, your costumes may change But your gods' all the same No idea where I'm at, and it feels so good No idea where I'm at, and it feels so good And it feels so good No idea where I'm at And it feels so good There may be no such place that whispers in the night There may be no end There may be no forgiveness so can we recycle the heaven we had.. No Idea No idea where I'm at, and it feels so good And it feels so good No idea where I'm at but it feels so good Yeah it feels so good No idea where I'm at, and it feels so good Feels so good No idea where I'm at, but it feels so good Yeah it feels so good No idea where I'm at And it feels so good Yeah, it feels so good Yeah it feels so good And it feels so good

Me And Joe 03:48
Me And Joe by Ken Bewick We come down come me and Joe We come down to see the show Rifles blaze and cannon blow We come down, come me and Joe Bells and whistles, horns and bows Line the streets to cheer us home A hill against the windy sky We dodge the arrows, Joe and I All day long till poor Joe dies Then we come down, come Joe and I Bows and whistles, horns and bells Line the streets to wish us well We come down as sunset glows Yeah we come down, come me and Joe The weariness of battle shows We come down, come me and Joe Bells and whistles, horns and bows Line the streets to cheer us home to cheer us home...

Rest Upon The Table by Ken Bewick The houses that we made couldn't take the wind They're all gone and broken, sing that song again Rest upon the table, lean against the kitchen door And if you're able you'll be stronger than you were before We were left a'dreaming, lost so many friends They're all gone a'sailing, sing that song for them Rest upon the table, dream against the kitchen door And if you're able you'll be stronger than you were before The sunset came and went, another day is through No one left to love me, sing that song for you Rest upon the table, lean against the kitchen door And if you're able you'll be stronger than you were before

Sugar Smells Sweet by Josh LaBelle, John Spalding, and Ken Bewick There you are, you're looking surprised What's making you thirsty? You're looking tired Sugar smells sweet, sugar is fine Find yourself far from the ocean You're always taking people Taking people for being excited Being foolish Nothin' foolish about being friendly You heard me? There you are! Sugar smells sweet, sugar is fine Find yourself far from the ocean Let me hear you laugh C'mon, let me hear you laugh You can cry, you can dream There you are. There you are Sugar smells sweet, sugar is fine Find yourself far from the ocean There you are Yeah Who said you're bored? Who said it? Nothin' wrong with being brave Sugar smells sweet, sugar is fine Find yourself far from the ocean

Bombers 04:45
Bombers by Ken Bewick Take a look, there's bombers in the harbor, Skimming low, their wings will touch the water, Take a look, oh turn around my daughter, It's beautiful to see 'em skim the harbor, The lighthouse is gone, I can see my happy home, On the remnants of a cliff above the Gulf of Mexico, I was thinking I should stay but I done sailed away, And now I really have no reason to go back there anymore, Take a look out on the horizon, Floating there used to be an island Hovering and covering the fine sand It's beautiful to see it kiss the mainland I wonder where the bombers sleep at night, The ocean, or the island in the sky, Somwhere there's a lighthouse burning bright, I wonder where the bombers go at night.
